Thankful

The past few days I have been pondering on what I have to be greatful for. I don't want to bore you with my whole list which is miles and miles long. But I will share with you some of the highlights of my days... Cuddling with my darlings and Husband. Butterfly kisses, staring into my children's eye's, playing games with them. Saying family prayer, reading Scriptures as a family, Cooking together, helping them through rough times, loving them unconditional, Weekend dates, And knowing that Sam and I will be together Forever. I am also thankful for the opportunity to Raise 6 beautiful Spirits who keep me on my toes, and my spirit young. Happy Holidays!

Gingerbread House!

Image
So My Sister has been working non-stop on this Gingerbread House. I think it's amazing!! So Amazing I thought I would Post it on my blog as well! The past few weeks When talking to her on the phone she would mention her gingerbread house and silly me thought o.k. she's building four walls and putting candy on it. Oopps my mistake ! I didn't realize that she was building a mansion! Check out her other pictures on her post Way to go Julie and Jim!!

I made these today for an afternoon snack. Just getting in the mood for Thursday. They are very easy to make you take marshmallows, Chocolate chips, striped shortbread cookies and yellow icing. (I wasn't paying attention and bought gel) 1. Melt Chocolate 2. I took a fondue fork and put through the hole of the cookie and held out of the way. 3. Put the marshmallow on fork and dip in chocolate when covered move the cookie toward the marshmallow and pull off the fork. 4. let cool and then decorate. I actually got this Idea from Fun Snacks for Kids They turned out way cute! What are you going to be snacking on before Thanksgiving Dinner?

Crazy Week!

Image
This last week has gone by so fast. If it wasn't for pictures I would have a hard time remembering what happened this week. we had a few school functions that happened this week. Tuesday Stewart had a library night. Wednesday Fawcett had a math night complete with hotdog dinner. Friday Stewart(middle school) honored the students who had a 100% turned in homework. And they let them leave school 30min. early if their parents were there. Yea for Tasha!! Boo for Kyle!!(hopefully he will get the message and work harder from now on) And of course I forgot my camera on the first two occasions. And Tasha ran away from her parents on the third occasion.(can you believe that she expected us to take her home when she wanted nothing to do with us just moments earlier.) I made 6 Family Home Evening packets for an exchange that happened on Thursday. And I saw these cupcake pops on Bakerella and had to give it a try. Mine aren't as cute but o.k. for my first attempt. I sent these to the FHE

So first of all it's... National Homemade Bread Day and I really had every intention to make bread but it just didn't happen. I did however make Focaccia Bread does that count? Click here for recipe It was yummy! Next time I am going to add garlic. Second... For Family Home Evening we talked about gossiping. The title of the lesson is... The Ugly Truth ( found here ) We started off by putting chocolate syrup in Cody's hand and then we passed it along until we completed the circle. I then explained to them how ugly gossiping can get and how what we say sticks and can never be taken back. After we cleaned our hands with wet wipes we played a little game of telephone. We ended with a story called "Girlfriends and Gossip" from the friend. We had a great time tonight and I sure hope that my kids learned something from the object lesson other than playing with chocolate. What is one of your favorite topics for Family Home Evening?

Today is the Day! OPENING DAY!! I offered to make 3 dresses for the play and luckily a friend of mine bailed me out by making one of them. I am not very comfortable around my sewing machine we have a love-hate relationship. But after finishing these two dresses (they look more like nightgowns) I think I'm going to tackle Christmas Pajamas this year. Here is a sneak peak at Kyles hair he will be a tad bit darker. (actually his hair will probably range from blue to gray because they are trusting me to get the color right.) Kyle as School boy Scrooge Brandon is the poulterer boy and Cody Tiny Tim We have our lines memorized and now let's hope our nerves don't get the best of us. We are so excited for our opening show tonight. Wish us luck!!! And no breaking legs please! (unless it's Cody and it has to be his right leg)lol.
My friend had just posted about a free offer. And I hope she dosen't care if I post it here. It's an 8X11 Photo book you still pay for shipping and you need to order by tomorrow. But what a wonderful present idea for grandparents, your children, family your choices are endless. Click here if you are interested. I sure hope I can find time where I can order one. We will have to see.

Lets burst out into song!

This past year has been a blessing I am so grateful for the opportunity to Stay at home and take care of the important things in life...My Family. When I was working I would forget the little moments. We hardly had Family Home Evening, rarely sat together for Dinner and if words were exchanged they were usually loud and not necessary let alone read scriptures together. But since quitting my job we eat as a family, (we have also adopted a game while we eat called telephone which Andrew insists we play every night). FHE is also a must even if all we do is go around telling everyone what our business for the week is (little steps). And we have started reading scriptures together which is the reason for this post. We were reading the other night and during Brandon's turn (1 Nephi 3 :7) he started to sing. Which I thought was brilliant! (Dad on the other hand didn't quit see the humor) But that night reminded me of all my blessings and how easily life can get in the way and take tho
