Déjà vu

Have you ever experienced Déjà vu ? Yesterday we had Waffles for what I thought was waffle day just to find out that it wasn't yesterday it was today so for breakfast two days in a row we had delicious waffles. Of course no one was complaining. I had just lost my mind for a moment. I sure hope I am not the only one that looses there mind or in this case days.

Waffle Iron Day

Image
Waffles are not just for breakfast. They are good for lunch or dinner, too. The origin of the waffle: The waffle dates back to the 1300s in Greece. Greeks cooked flat cakes between two metal pans. At the time, they topped it with cheeses and herbs. Pancake syrup wasn't around back then. Holiday Insights.com Here are some waffle recipes that you might find enjoyable. So let's cook up some waffles! I don't know about you but I'm getting hungry for Waffles. ht tp://www.bbonline.com/rec ipe/waffles.html http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Classic-Waffles/Detail.aspx http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/Breakfast-and-Brunch/Waffles/Mai http://food.yahoo.com/search?tp=recipe&p=waffles

Forgivness

Being a parent I talk to my kids about forgiving and how important it is. How they should say I'm Sorry and feel that they have made amends. And when the tides are turned and it's up to me to apologize or even forgive I find it harder than when I was just a kid. I wish that I could return to those innocent days and become like a child when forgivness comes my way. Forgiveness Brenda Terrell When Jesus died upon the cross His words rang clear and true, "Father, please forgive them, For they know not what they do." As the Precious Lamb of God Christ wants me to see: Forgiving is the power That sets my spirit free! Forgiveness is God's wondrous gift That sets my spirit free!

Job Carr Museum

Image
Today we went to the Job Carr Museum today They let the kids dress up. I guess Tasha is just getting to old for this because she looked at the clothes and rolled her eyes. Look how cute they are!! There was a small ampitheater off to the side of the cabin. And a small play area that the kids enjoyed while I read. We had so much fun lets see if we can build our own cabin.

Multi-Stake Production of the Christmas Carol

Some of you are aware that our family auditioned for the opportunity to be part of this production. I was thrilled when I opened my e-mail and this is what I found... To Cody, “Tiny Tim Cratchit ” To Kyle, “Child Scrooge” To Sam, “The Grocer” and “Poulterer” (2 different scenes) To Brandon, “Boy” (he helps the poultry seller in a scene w/ scrooge) To Tasha, “Girls choir member” (special part of the show!) To Cindy “Towns Woman” We are all so excited and I don't think they could have gotten a better Tiny Tim.

Manitou Park

Image
Here we are at Manitou park where they made lunch easy for me because they serve healthy sack lunches to the kids that show up. And after you eat lunch at 1p.m. they open the wading pool which the kids enjoyed. Hey mom... look what I found We could do without the cool breeze. Let's play on the playground until we are dry and then lets get wet again. This ones mine! So I thought if I brought a green tote we could pile everything into it and then we wouldn't look so cluttered. As you can see Andrew had other ideas.

Pink Day

Image
So for Dinner we had breakfast pink eggs and pancakes the kids wanted me to color the bacon pink but come on it was all I could do to eat pink eggs. This morning when I told the girls to find something pink to wear Andrew threw up his arms and said I don't have anything pink to wear but we settled on a red shirt . Andrew also thinks that because today was pink day that tomorrow is yellow day his favorite color.

Rested?

Image
It has been a crazy weekend for us. Tasha had her vocal recital on Saturday and she should be very proud of her self. I baked peanutbutter cookies for the recital and brownies for our ward social. Kyle and Sam went on a campout with the Scouts. Kyle came home with some enormous mosquito bites. The one on his hand has swollen to double the size. But other than the bites they had a great time. I also think I got a few loads of laundry done as well. With all the other running around we did Saturday. So today after church we spent relaxing outside by the fire. I believe we are well rested for next week.

Todays festivities (SOUTH PARK)

Image
We had a great time celebrating national picnic day. It was quit chilli but that didn't stop us from playing in the water. The sun was playing hide and seek the whole time. It wasn't until we came home that the sun decided to show itself. We did miss having Tasha and Kyle with us but they where having a blast babysitting the Menzie's. The other holiday we celebrated was national splurge day. I had a fabulous time eating my brownies And of course I had a few more than I should have but isn't that what this day is all about?. Do you see my muscel? This is from hand mixing my brownies. Don't pay attention to the flab on the bottom. lol

National Splurge Day

I sure wish I knew about this holiday yesterday I would have planned all kinds of fun splurging activities. However I am going to make the best out of this Holiday starting with baking a big batch of brownies. National Splurge Day When : Always June 18 th It's National Splurge Day, oh Yeah! There are certain dates on the calendar that you look forward to with great excitement. You mark the date and wait in eager anticipation. For me, National Splurge Day is one of those very special days. National Splurge Day is a day to treat yourself excessively, to anything you want. And, to excess if you desire. Isn't that a great thing? Maybe, you're on a diet, and that special dessert is too many calories. Maybe, you want to buy a steak, and the budget is a little tight. Toss out the reservations, and go for it today. Celebrate this day to the fullest degree. Treat yourself to whatever you want and to excess . For, this is a day to splurge. Do so without worry or concern...until tom

Schools Out

Image
It's official School is out! Time to gather our Chiclets for some summer fun! Or in our case summer chirpping (arguing) mostly out of bordom but I think I have a plan this year. What do you think about locking them in the basement? They would have a bathroom, our food storage is down there so they would have food, they would have activities like laundry, and best of all the upstairs would stay clean. Okay maybe not the best Idea. Maybe we will just live at the parks this summer.

Eat your vegetables day

Image
Eat Your Vegetables Day June 17th Strategically created in the middle of National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, this day is the perfect opportunity to re-introduce a healthy portion of vegetables into your diet. No doubt about it, Eat Your Vegetables Day was created to promote a more heallthy diet.......for life! On this day, you are encouraged to eat vegetables for every meal, and for a snack. Better still, try to be a vegetarian....for the day. Short of that, any additonal vegetables at meal time today will honor the event, as well as make you a little healthier. We encourage parents to let the kids help with dinner, preparing the salad and vegetables. Along the way, you tell your kids a little about the importance of vegetables for a long and healthy life. Now really is this how your suppose to eat corn? Just a quick reminder about national Picnic Day tomorrow. I am taking my kids on a picnic Lunch tomorrow if anyone out there wants to join us just give me a call.

Teacher gifts

Image
Okay I guess it's time that the Haywards show more appreciation for their teachers.I had a hard time figuring out what to get them. And since I didn't decide until yesterday to do something I was in crunch mode I had thought about just getting 2-3 candy bars and making a cute little card corresponding to the candy bars . But as I was looking for ribbon at the dollar tree I saw ice cream scoops and a light bulb went off. The card read...Have you heard the SCOOP? Your the Best Teacher ever. Have a great summer! And Thank You for teaching me. Love, childs name Callie gave her kindergarten Teacher the Pink one, Cody will give the green one to his teacher and Brandon has a male teacher so we toned down Mr. Mac's

Let's smell the Roses

Image
Dad your always there for me through the good and the bad. You teach me to always stand tall even when I am sad. I haven't shown my gratitude as often as I could. Even though my mother said I should. All I ever want is.. just a little time to stop and smell the roses..with you by my side. Cindy Hayward

Bless this Nation

Image
Have mercy, O Lord, upon all the nations of the earth; have mercy upon the rulers of our land; may those principles, which were so honorably and nobly defended, namely, the Constitution of our land, by our fathers, be established forever. -Doctrine and Covenants 109:54- May God bless this nation of which you and I are a part. Bless her leaders that they may rise above pettiness and live after the tradition of the Founding Fathers. Bless our industry that it may benefit all mankind. Bless our science that out of it may come health and happiness for the peoples of the earth. Bless the people of this nation, you, every one of you, and me, and all who walk beneath its glorious flag with gratitude and appreciation, with respect and reverence, as well as with love. Gordon B. Hinckley

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Image
Picture was taken at Point Defiance Zoo kid center. Wow!! I truely cannot believe I have made it to the ripe old age of 34. I still love my birthdays even though the gift giving has diminished. (I will give you all a week to have my gifts delivered)LOL!! Here are just a few things about me that you maynot know. * I was a tom boy but loved to wear flower prints. * favorite colors growing up were black and yellow * I coached girls softball when I was 17 (for a couple of years) * I love camping * I rolled out of our moving station wagon when I was 8 (my mom says I was 10)(we will continue to argue about this until I'M 96.) * We had a homemade fort in our backyard. I had fallen from the top of the fort and had a concussion that lasted a couple of days. * In High school I was in choir and theater and loved every minute of it. * Jobs I've had...I worked in a ma and pa greece pit. I worked as a nanny and then transitioned into working with Elderly. Then came the famous Build-a-Bear Wo

Behold Your Little Ones

And he spake unto the multitude, and said unto them:behold your little ones. And as they looked to behold they cast their eyes towards heaven, and they saw the heavens open, and they saw angels descending out of heaven as it were in the midst of fire: and they came down and encircled those little ones about,...and the angels did minister unto them. 3 Nephi 17:23-24 Behold your little ones.Pray with them. Pray for them and bless them. The world into which they are moving is a complex and difficult world. They will run into heavy seas of adversity. They will need all the strength and all the faith you can give them. They must lift their world, and the only levers they will have are the examples in their own lives and the powers of persuasion that will come of your testimonies and your knowledge of the things of God. Gordon B. Hinckley As my Children become more independent and the years go by I wonder have I done enough. When my children were smaller and we had conflicts with their stro

Ice cream! You scream! We all scream for Ice Cream!

O.k. I wasn't going to blog this story but my sister said I should. Yesterday when Coming home from Scouts and Achievement Days I thought it would be fun to drive through McDonalds drive thru and treat everyone to an Ice Cream cone. I drove up to the second window and proceeded to distribute the cones among the kids. Then came mine it looked beautiful and I guess I don't know my own strength because no sooner did I grab the cone and started driving away I broke the bottom part of the cone right off. The ice cream plummeted to the floor. I quickly scooped it off the coat that was laying there and with napkin in hand quickly gobbled it right down. It was not one of my better moments but really funny.

Be Worthy

The Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. PSALM 84:11 Shape up. I say that to myself constantly. Shape up. Stand a little taller. Be a little better, a little stronger, a little more thoughtful, a little humbler, a little more prayerful, that you may be worthy of the guidance of the Lord and of his wonderful blessings. Gordon B. Hinkley I too remind myself on a daily basis. Especially when dealing with my strong spirited Children. I was given this book a few years ago and there are inspirational messages for everyday of the year. I hope you don't mind that I post them on my blog and if you have any comments please leave them. Beacuse I like most feed of others testimonies.

Field Trip

Image
This was actually alot of fun. We walked to the bus stop and waited for the bus(city bus). When we arrived at Albertsons they asked the kids about the foods they eat and what foods are everyday foods and what foods are sometimes foods and when they showed them the candybar there were a few kids that shouted everyday foods. This first picture is of Callie eating a piece of star fruit. I don't think she liked it. They also gave them a piece of wheat bread. Where is this girls mother? Really you think she would have better manners than this. They had the kids make tortilla rollups with ham and cheese. Then it was off to the soy milk lucky for us it was Chocolate flavored. The Children seemed to enjoy it. Hey kids do you want to pet a lobster or fish? They had all the kids pick out a box of healthy cereal Off to the checkout stand I feel sorry for the one who has to put all the cereal back on the shelf. Say Cheese! We are waiting at the bus stop for the next bus. The bus was
