I'm still in Heaven

Image
Today Andrew and I were admiring this family photo and I asked him where he was he proceeded to tell me..." I'm up in Heaven ..you were still making me" Oh the funny things kids say.

I'm Tired! UPDATE

For the last few weeks we have implemented the bed time routine in our home and it seems to be working. how this works... when they fight (extensivley) (a little banter is healthy.lol) talk back immature behavior getting out of bed. (this is mostly for Callie because she would stay up till after midnight if we let her) bad attitude their Initials are put on the calendar. The first one means they have chosen not to stay up after bedtime. The second initial means they want to go to bed a half hour early I limited them to 5 initials a day (bed 2 hrs. early) Yes my kids have wanted to go to bed at 6:00p.m. which makes for a very peaceful evening. In fact I have two kids that on Saturday chose to loose staying up privileges throughout this week. I don't expect this to solve all our issues but it seems to be making an impact and they are really good at going to bed because they know if they don't they will loose their privileged for tomorrow. So far Cody, Andrew and Tasha are the on

It's Froggy Outside

Image
Andrew and I walked the kids to school today which is a rare treat. As we were making our way back home I asked Andrew if He knew where Luke lived (a friend from church) he said " I can't see his house cause it's to froggy" So if you live in Tacoma beware of the frogs they could be covering up your house as well.

I'm Tired!

As a parent we are usually the first ones to hear if there is a complaint or a problem. My kids tend to voice their opinions frequently to me or anyone that will listen. We have tried different methods to curve their behavior with no victory. We have also taken parenting classes watched love and logic videos, watched our share of the Nanny. Yet we were still coming up short. Our biggest problem was finding a privileged that could be taken away. Last week I was reading my Sister in-laws blog and she was telling of how she uses bedtime as a privileged. So We have adopted this concept into our daily life and it seems to be making an impact on my kids. We have a chart with the days of the week and we give our children the opportunity to stay up a half hour after bedtime if they can get through the day without getting their initial written on the chart. However they can also loose hours and get sent to bed early for every initial (besides the first one)they have chosen to go to bed 1/2 hr

Gifts! Love Them!

Image
I GOT A PACKAGE TODAY! LOVE PACKAGES! I was complaining to my Sister that I can never find any cute bows and don't even know where to start to make my own. I guess she was feeling sorry for me because today I received a package. Shawna and my Mom filled it with coupons, M&M banks, Chocolate and... BOWS LOTS OF BOWS! I love them! In fact I will most likely be sporting a couple of these tomorrow. Callie has already picked out the red, pink and white ones for tomorrow I sure hope we can find a dress to go with them. lol. Thank You! Shawna and Mom!

Just Nothing

I was trying to decide what to do Today... Clean, exercise, waste time on the computer, spend time with Andrew. And as I was wasting time on the computer I realized it was do Nothing Day! Yea! Now I can do nothing and not feel guilty. I am just keeping this day alive. This being said I am only human so I did run a little today and I will most likely pick up around the house, and of course I will spend time with Andrew because at this moment he is trying to make his own peanut butter sandwich because his mother is blogging and ignoring him. Have a great day doing nothing!

My last trip to Albertson's turned out to be the best! Yes, I know you are sick of me posting about shopping but I had a few of you ask.. How I do it? I ended up spending $1.77 for what you see in the picture. You ask how? Albertson's Ad had two double coupon certificates in their ad where they would double up to 3 manufacture coupons per certificate. There are a few sites I continuously go to print off coupons they are... Betty Crocker Coupon Cat Pillsbury Albertson's had a sale when you bought $30 worth of certain items you would get 3 $5 dollar coupons for your next purchase. I grouped all my coupons together to try to get the best deal I could. The first time I purchased it actually cost me $17 something but I had $15 for a next purchase. The trick was to get 6 $1 coupons which equaled $12 +$15=$27 ....out of pocket=$3 and then 3 more $5 coupons would print out and you beg your neighbor friends or anyone you can for more double coupons and go back I pretty much lived

My kids are addicted to T.V. Usually the T.V. is off for homework time but especially in the evening it seems like it's on non-stop. Yesterday I decided to start something new so while I was cooking dinner I asked the kids to either draw a picture or write a story depending on their age and ability. I had one child who complained therefore ended up having chores instead. He immediately tried to change his mind but had no luck in changing our minds of his consequences. They all had a blast thinking up stories and the two youngest had a grand time coloring. Callie saw how much fun the older kids were having, after her picture was done she started putting together her own story. During dinner we went around the table and they showed off there hard work and you could tell how proud they were of their work. Kyle was even wishing that he had participated instead of complaining. They wanted to make this a tradition every night. I like the idea, but will it grow old? I am thinking that onc

Tasha's Story

The Fair Today was my first time going to a fair. There was me, my family and my best friend violet. Violet has been my best friend since preschool. We've had our quarrels but that's how friends are, nobodies perfect. "Are we there yet?" asked my younger sister Sally. " 10 more minutes!" my father replied, too unpatient to say anymore. 3 long minutes past as we sat quietly, looking out for any signs that the fair was here. "Fair ...5 miles" studdered Derick as he read the sign. "Yay!" we all cheered happily. The next 5 minutes past. We were 2 miles away! Andy and Cameron, twins, were sound asleep. Derick, was playing his video games, Violet and I were whispering about random things that happened in school. And Mom and Dad were laughing at all the different activities hapening in the van. "We're there!" dad exclaimed, just excited that he can finally stop driving. "Aubrey can you wake up the twins?"Mom asked with a

The Challenge

Image
This year in our Ward they have challenged us to read our Scriptures everyday (which is something we should do anyway.. but life sometimes takes over) I came home from Church and thought this would be a good challenge for our whole family. Then for Family Home Evening I delivered the Challenge to my kids and that I would make a chart so we can keep track of our progress and then monthly or quarterly we would so something fun. I also let them know that Andrew was the only one that could count Family Scripture reading everyone else was on there own. I was a little worried that they wouldn't care or put any effort into making this challenge work. But... My kids have shocked my again. I have a couple of boys who need reminded but Cody never seems to forget infact Andrew has asked him a couple of times to read stories to him and he replies I can't because I am reading my Scriptures. And then there is Callie who is still learning how to put words together yet she has paired up with T

Growing up I celebrated this day (male watchers day) EVERYDAY! Since being married I have given up celebrating this day. (O.k. I still celebrate on occasion) And so today I thought I would share with you some of the men I feasted my eyes on today. I hope you enjoyed the man watching as much as I did.

Happy Birthday! Dad! I love my Dad! He loves being outside either camping, gardening, working, fishing or his new passion taking pictures. This is how cool my Dad is.. He came up to visit us and while on his vacation he filled in our ditch that has been such an eye sore for around four years. (it still needs leveled out. Dad, when are you coming back to finish the job? Just Kidding) Growing up he was creative in finding ways to provide for the Family when things where tight. He hardly yelled at us in fact I believe my infectious smile came from him. He would always come home from work and especially on our Birthday he would always have a treat left in his lunch box just for us. The little things he did for us still remain with us. Thanks Dad! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I know you where all waiting for the answers last night. But my computer decided to throw a tantrum. And we had to put it into time out. Now that it's behaving (After a long talk with it this morning) I can post the answers to yesterday's trivia. Yes I know you are all on pins and needles waiting for the answers. (hint: Tasha was born 13months after we were married)

Festival of sleep day!

I soo want to celebrate this day. But I have no time . lol And don't forget to toss your fruitcakes today. You can toss them at a child who is not behaving, your husband who is hogging the computer or take it to your local park and see if you can trick the birds into eating it.

Our Cousins came to visit us!! We are so blessed! We played, Rocked out! tried to hide from the camera Dressed up! What a day! We had so much fun playing cards, eating, reminiscing and enjoying one another. The day went by so fast. And we were tempted into hiding one or two of them in the closet (we would have taken all four but then they would know someone was missing)
