Fourth of July

O.k. The Fourth proved to be an unforgettable day. We love to celebrate the 4th of July and each year is always different but we always try to squeeze in fireworks (watching because here in Tacoma they are illegal) and this year was no different however the fireworks were a tad different. Let me explain...
We started the day by going down to visit the Tall Ships and stayed until close to closing time. We had a blast! getting on all the ships and listening to stories even waiting an hour and a half to tour the bigger ships. Our kids for the most part were fabulous and exhausted by the time we made it to the van. And that's when the fireworks started... We were piling into the van and Sam noticed a ticket on our windshield our van was the only one that had a ticket supposedly our van did not meet the height criteria to park where we parked the issue was that there were cars and smaller vans that were parked in the same area with no ticket. The fireworks where flying high! Luckily Sam kept his sailor mouth away from the kids.
We made our way home where we started a fire and had hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner with smore's for dessert. The kids started to notice real fireworks start to fly overhead just around 8:30-9:00 and we told them to go upstairs and look out the window they could see them better. A few minutes later we heard Callie screaming as we ran into the house to see what happened she came running down the stairs with her lip bleeding we thought by the looks of it that she had bit all the way through her lip. However she did not go all the way through but did a good number on both sides of her mouth. So for the Grand Finale of Fireworks we ended up in the emergency room getting four stitches. And don't let this picture fool you becuase when they were numbing up her lip she was talking, giggling and telling us her deep dark secrets non-stop we actually called the numbing gel ... truth syrup. We finally got home after 1:ooa.m. and I don't remember much after that. I hope you all had a great 4th!!!

Callie looks so much like her mother. Those ships look so cool. You've never showed us all of these cool places that you blog. Next time we visit you'll have to give us the real blogging tour. Just don't let Sam be in charge of parking we don't want a ticket.
